The Key to Being Successful By Gail Stolzenburg
I know what most of you are asking yourselves. You're saying, "I know Gail and Elvia are successful in business, but can I do it?"
Would you would like to be successful? Are you are already successful? Statistics show only about 3 - 4% of people are financially independent. Successful people must do something differently. What is it? Ask yourself these twelve questions:
1. Do you know how much time successful people devote to personal development? The answer is seven (7) hours per week Thats an hour per day, 365 hours per year that make the 2000 working hours much more productive. How much time are you devoting to personal development?
2. Do you have a mentor or an advisor? Every Monday evening at 6:00 PM I have a conference call with my mentor. We review my goals and accomplishments for the previous week and my goals for the upcoming week. We discuss problems I've encountered and strategies to handle the tasks that are just not working the way I want. Its the most productive time spent in my entire week.
3. Do you have a Master Mind group? Each week I meet with four people who are committed to being successful. We share what were doing, what weve learned the past week, and where we want to be in a certain time frame. We have an open question/answer session. What would your life be like if you met with your Master Mind Group each week?
4. Do you know how many non-fiction books the average person reads? The answer is one (1) per year. How many non-fiction books do you read? My goal is to read one (1) per week. Theres a new book written by a fellow Houstonian, Ruben Gonzalez. Its entitled, "The Courage to Succeed." Ruben is a 3-time Olympian, who is used as an example three times in Jack Canfields new book, "The Success Principles." Be sure to read Ruben's and Jack's book.
5. Do you have a plan? Is it written? Do you carry it with you and read it every day?
6. Do you have written goals? Do they say "how much by when?" Do you read them every day?
7. Do you have an "I want" list, a written list of 101 things you want to do or have or be?
8. Do you have Self Talk? Of course everyone has self talk, but most of the self talk is negative. The secret is to change your self talk by saying, " Thats not like me. Im better than that." Dr. Jim Will has an excellent CD on Self Talk. Be sure to get it.
9. Do you have written affirmations that you visualize every day. Every successful Olympic athlete uses this technique. Put your affirmations on 3 X 5 cards and read them before you go to sleep instead of watching the late nite news.
10. Do you watch TV? What if you stopped watching TV for one (1) week? You will feel the difference when you dont have all the negativity in your life. You will be amazed at the additional time you have to do productive tasks and spend with your family. I dont watch TV. Its not because Im strong, its because Im weak. Ill watch an educational program then sit for several more hours watching junk. Its addicting. When you stop watching TV, the freedom is unbelievable. Just try it!
11. Have you heard the phase "Work harder on yourself than you do on enrolling prospects?" You get what you expect. What you focus on becomes larger, so focus on successful traits. When you are doing something you are passionate about, the money will come. What could be a greater enjoyment than helping people to improve their health and wealth?
12. How many times did you hear me mention a specific business in my talk today? Not once? Your business is just a vehicle for your success. You are the key.
So, take action! Do it now? Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail.
